Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is introducing new measures to better support international students and protect the integrity of Canada's international student program.
Starting in 2024, the cost-of-living requirement for study permit applicants will be increased to better reflect the true cost of living in Canada. This change will ensure that students arrive in Canada with the financial resources they need to succeed.
Additionally, IRCC is extending the waiver on the 20-hour-per-week limit on off-campus work for international students until April 30, 2024. This extension provides students with more flexibility to support themselves financially while gaining valuable work experience.
