Government of Canada
Immigration Canada

The Government of Canada provides a wide range of support for individuals looking to upgrade their skills, complete an apprenticeship, or transition to a new career. We work with provinces, territories, and industry partners to ensure that Canadians have access to the training they need to succeed in today's evolving job market.

Apprenticeship Grants and Support

Financial assistance is available to help apprentices complete their training and certification in Red Seal trades. This includes the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant, the Apprenticeship Completion Grant, and the Apprenticeship Incentive Grant for Women. We also offer the Canada Apprentice Loan to help with the costs of technical training, tools, and equipment.

Skills Development and Training Programs

Various programs are available to help workers develop new skills and stay competitive. This includes funding for literacy and essential skills training, as well as support for workers in sectors undergoing significant transformation. We also partner with organizations to provide targeted training for underrepresented groups, including Indigenous peoples, youth, and persons with disabilities.

Career Planning and Counseling

Choosing the right career path is a major decision. We provide tools and resources to help you explore different occupations, understand labor market trends, and identify the skills you need for your chosen field. Our career counseling services can help you develop a personalized training plan and find the educational institutions that offer the programs you need.

Financial Assistance for Students

Beyond apprenticeship-specific support, students enrolled in post-secondary education can apply for Canada Student Loans and Grants. These programs provide financial aid to help cover tuition, living expenses, and other costs associated with higher education. Eligibility is based on financial need, ensuring that all Canadians have the opportunity to pursue advanced training and education.
